Hydrogeological & Instrumentation Drilling Services | Western Canada

Western Hydrogeological & Instrumentation Drilling provides specialty drilling services in support of hydrogeological, environmental, infrastructure, and resource projects across Western Canada.

Our services are intended for engineered drilling scopes where access, geology, depth, or instrumentation requirements exceed the capabilities of typical monitoring well rigs.

Hydrogeological Drilling

We drill boreholes and wells in support of hydrogeological investigations and groundwater characterization programs.

Typical applications include bedrock and overburden drilling for groundwater assessment, deeper drilling in uncertain geology, and projects requiring consistent borehole quality for testing and instrumentation.

Drilling methods and approach are coordinated with the project hydrogeologist to meet program objectives and reporting requirements.

Instrumentation & Monitoring Well Drilling (Engineered Programs)

We routinely drill boreholes intended for the installation of groundwater instrumentation and long-term monitoring systems.

Instrumentation-related scopes include piezometer installations, bedrock monitoring systems, and boreholes supporting hydrogeological testing and observation programs.

Instrumentation drilling is treated as a core service, with emphasis on borehole alignment, stability, and cleanliness.

Specialty Air Rotary & DTH Drilling

Our high-volume, high-pressure air capability supports drilling programs where conventional monitoring well rigs are not suitable.

This includes competent and fractured rock, deeper drilling runs, and applications requiring sustained air delivery for effective cuttings removal and borehole quality at depth.

Monitoring Wells (Engineered Programs)

Monitoring and observation wells are installed as part of engineered hydrogeological and instrumentation programs.

These services are best suited to bedrock or deeper installations, projects requiring specialty access or air drilling capability, and programs where monitoring wells form part of a broader investigation.

For small, shallow, roadside monitoring well programs, local commodity drilling contractors may be more appropriate.

Project Fit

Western Hydrogeological & Instrumentation Drilling is best suited for projects involving specialty drilling requirements, challenging access or geology, instrumentation-focused scopes, and mobilization where capability is a defining factor.

Service Area

Projects are supported throughout British Columbia, with frequent work in the Lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver region.
